An Irish-Indian celebration at home

This could well have been the most colourful wedding I ever worked, or attended. The Indian crowd brought so much love and joy to the wedding through their dance, dress, conversation. I never considered it, but the Irish and the Indians certainly gel well together when it comes to celebration.

Sam and Lela got married in Lela’s home village church, followed by a reception in her backyard. The weather was mainly kind, asides from a quick shower during her own speech. At least half the party got a taste of what Irish weddings can often end up becoming!

The dancing in the evening was a vibe and then some. Dozens of San’s family and friends had prepared dances for everyone to enjoy. He roped in a few of the Irish too. I smiled and smiled as the warmth and love around me flowed. A beautiful weekend for a beautiful couple!
